Like you, I dreaded that this day would come. Though this is the first rejection, it is the first of many failures to come. Who knows how many there will be. But I know one thing for sure is that I will not give up. And this is merely the beginning.

“If at first you don’t succeed, try try again”

– William Edward Hickson

When I found UX Design, I knew it was the career for me. It gave me a purpose in life that I’ve always wanted, and it let me pursue my passion for design that helps improve the lives of others. I couldn’t have asked for a better career match for me. And I will do whatever it takes to get to land a role in UX Design and start my new journey.

But what does it take to get to that point?

The Rejections

I am fully aware of the many rejections to come as that’s just the reality of being a UX Designer fresh out of Bootcamp with 6 months of experience. I’m not necessarily scared of the journey ahead, what I am scared of is the possibility of the endless rejections to come that make the future bleaker and bleaker. Thoughts of the endless rejections brings doubt within me.

What if I’m just not good enough to be a UX Designer?

The Realization

But there is no such thing as not being good enough. If you don’t give up, YOU WILL get to where you want to be. More importantly, if you are passionate about what it is you want to do, then nothing you do will be in vain. I have to remember my UX Design journey is different from others, and I cannot compare myself. Even if it will take me longer, it will be worth it. I will and I can do this.

“You would rather find purpose than a job or a career. Purpose crosses disciplines. Purpose is an essential element of you. It is the reason you are on the planet at this particular time in history. Your very existence is wrapped up in the things you are here to fulfill”

– Chadwick Boseman

I won’t forget my purpose and neither should you. The road is tough, and so incredibly tough right now but do not lose focus. You will get there, and you will be on top of the world.
